Sarah graduated in Medicine from The University of Leicester in 1999. She then undertook surgical training in the Midlands, gaining operative experience in General Surgery and Paediatric Surgery. She was awarded Membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in England by examination in 2003.
Following this she made the move into general practice as she enjoyed the variety and patient contact that it had to offer, allowing her to adopt a more holistic approach to patients under her care. After a further three years of training, she was awarded Membership to the Royal college of General Practitioners by examination.
Sarah has been an experienced partner in General Practice for the last 16 years, and has been one of the main providers of women's health and minor skin surgery. Sarah is passionate about medical education and is a GP trainer, helping to develop and nurture the next generation of GPs. She particularly enjoys training them in surgical skills and techniques to maximise excellent cosmetic results. She has also developed an interest in clinical dermatology, gaining a Postgraduate Diploma from Queen Mary’s and developing her skill in the use of the dermoscope for lesion recognition.
Sarah is also passionate about ensuring women get the best medical help for contraception, menopause care and healthy lifestyles. People love her gentle and caring manner and appreciate her ability to listen to them and deliver the results they want. Sarah has extensive training in women’s health and is keen to see prevention of degenerative issues that beset people as they age.
Sarah is registered with the GMC and is fully insured for the treatment she provides.
Mr Daniel Thio
Daniel initially qualified in 1999 from the National University of Ireland (Dublin) with a medical degree. He subsequently embarked on a career in Surgery, gaining experience in the specialties of General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He was awarded Membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh by examination, and attained the postgraduate Diploma of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 2004. He then undertook Higher Surgical Training in Ear Nose and Throat Surgery.
In 2011, he changed career paths after starting a family, reading Dentistry at the University of Bristol whilst working in the fields of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgical dermatology in Bristol, Southwest London and Harley Street. His professional development included rigorous and comprehensive advanced training in Botox and Filler Treatments, including the MD Codes and 8-point lift pioneered by world-leading expert Dr Mauricio De Maio.
A move to York to be closer to family followed, and in 2018, Daniel and Sarah set up The Minster Clinic, which has gained a reputation for high quality, ethical, patient focused healthcare, treating patients across the breadth of the UK, and occasionally beyond.
His extensive training in Head and Neck Surgery means he is ideally suited to removing cosmetically sensitive moles, warts and cysts on the scalp, face and neck a well as other parts of the body. His understanding of facial and dental anatomy makes him ideally suited for other non-surgical procedures such as anti-wrinkle injections to counteract the effects of ageing, enabling him to achieve the highest of standards with natural results.
Patients love his honest, caring and relaxed attitude and continue to see him for the attention to detail he provides. Daniel is registered with both the General Medical Council and the General Dental Council and is fully insured for the treatment he provides.
