What is Aviclear?

Acne occurs when sebum, produced by these sebaceous glands, combines with dead skin cells and clogs the skin's pores.
AviClear is the first FDA-approved laser for the long-term treatment of mild, moderate and severe acne. It uses a 1726nm wavelength to treat acne at the source by selectively targeting and suppressing the sebaceous glands. By doing so, AviClear reduces active acne and prevents future acne breakouts after a course of three treatment sessions.

Am I suitable for Aviclear?

AviClear is safe and suitable for use on all skin types and tones and can be performed all year round. It is a quick and safe treatment with very little downtime. AviClear can be used to treat the face, chest and back.

How effective is Aviclear?

AviClear was initially cleared by the FDA on March 24, 2022 as the first energy device for the treatment of all severities of acne. Since then, AviClear has received an additional FDA approval as the first long term treatment for mild to severe inflammatory acne vulgaris. Clinical trials have shown that in addition to reducing existing acne, future breakout episodes are shorter, less intense, and more infrequent following AviClear treatment.
In three 30-minute treatment sessions, 90% of patients experienced continued visible improvement in their acne 6 months after their third session. Improvement increases to 92% according to 12-month clinical data, confirming the long-term efficacy of AviClear in achieving acne clearance and improved skin quality over time.

What downtime can I expect after treatment?

Downtime is minimal. Patient can resume daily activities immediately after treatment. A proportion of patients experience a mild flare-up of acne symptoms after their first treatment.

Is treatment painful?

There is some mild discomfort during treatment which is well tolerated. AviCool sapphire contact cooling helps to control and maintain the skin's temperature during treatment for a more comfortable experience. In clinical studies, patients tolerated the treatment well with no need for pain medication or interruption to the procedure. Patients have described the experience as a slight snapping sensation.
